Photographer: Colchester and Essex Museum, Taken: 1987 approx, Source: Colchester and Essex Museum, Ref: M6

I have not displayed this photo because I would have had to pay royalties to the museum to do so. But I have given my information here in case it is useful.

Seven 17th century Witham tokens, one side. Inscriptions read (1) ‘WSF 1658[?]’ (other side of Samuel Wall), (2) ‘WITHAM IN’, with stag (other side of Richard Swinborne), (3) ‘RGD IN WITHAM 1669’ (other side of George Robinson), (4) ‘IN ESSEX CLOTHIER 1669 HIS HALF PENNY’ (other side of John Jackson), (5) ‘OF WITHAM IN ESSEX’ with woolpack perhaps (other side of Thomas Gardener’, (6) ‘JUNIOR IN WITHAM JF 1667 (other side of John Freeburne), (7) ‘TB IN WITHAM’ (other side of Thomas Barker).
