Albert Wayland Shelley in First World War uniform, with two friends. He was in the army and stationed at the Retreat in Maldon Road. He was born in Pattiswick in 1885, the family were in Rivenhall by 1901. The card has ‘Sulva Bay Heroes’ inscribed on it.
