All Saints church, Guithavon Street. First World War soldiers walking past. Postmark 3 August 1917. Addressed to Miss W Stratford, ‘Beacon Villa’, 73 Victoria Road, Maldon. Message reads ‘Dear W, Gran[?] met me with the key.l Their were 6 letters awaiting me on my return, 2 from France. Its still raining are quite alone, not seen any one since I came home. Yope you are still feeling happy, With Love, Grandma’.
