Bethel chapel, Church Street, being built. Meetings had previously been held in the YMCA hut in Collingwood Road, then at the British Legion hut in Mill Lane. The new chapel was built by Harry Webb, pastor of the Hammersmith assembly with the help of Ernest Shearman whose uncle was pastor at Brentwood.
