Bill Joslin and Dobbin the horse in Rectory Lane

Bill Joslin (father of Cecil and packing foreman at Crittall’s) with Dobbin the horse. This was at Wells’ market garden in Rectory Lane. Used to grow all sorts of vegetables and take them to London early every morning in a van. Dobbin and other horses pulled the carts.1937 directory (under Rivenhall) has ‘Wells, Ernest Charles and Son, farmers, Rickstones and Glebe farms, TN Witham 74’ (not in 1926 directory either under Rivenhall or other farmers).
