The forge and Chipping Hill, probably with pram. Left to right, 34 Chipping Hill and 32 Chipping Hill (on the green, both demolished 1932), 26 Chipping Hill (part hidden), 18 Chipping Hill (forge). Parish church tower at back. Postmark is Witham 10 October 1908. Addressed to Miss Ellis, 30 Somerset Street, Portman Square, London W. Message reads ‘Dear Rene, I thought I would send you a Card of Witham. I am staying about half an hours walk from here. Archie. This is the old part of the town’.
