Looking up Church Street from the bottom. Left hand side of road, left to right, wall at back of 22 Chipping Hill, 24 Chipping Hill, 26 Chipping Hill (with foliage), wall of parish churchyard, Woolpack public house (7 Church Street, in distance), Right hand side, left to right, 28-40 Church Street (Charity Row), 26 Church Street (with gable), 24 Church Street (small), 22 Church Street (brick), 20 Church Street, extra door between 20 and 18 leading to back, 18 Church Street (with window immediately to right of it), 16 Church Street (far right, with canopy over the door). 16-20 were demolished in a clearance area in 1938. Bell’s photographers didn’t come to Essex till c.1908
