The bottom of Church Street looking up (northwards). On the left of the road is the churchyard wall. On the right of road, left to right, is 54a Church Street (in the distance, white with a gable), a shed, 28-40 Church Street (Charity Row, formerly the parish workhouse, with windows in the roof), 26 Church Street (with an overhang and gable), 24 Church Street. 

Postmark 26 Aug 1916. Addressed to ‘Miss A Atkin, South Street, Swineshead, nr Boston, Lincs’. Message reads ‘Millfield House, Witham, Essex. Dear A, Just a PC to you. I hope you and your auntie are both well. We are having such a good time. Love from M Vine[?]’.
