Addressed to Mrs W Trafford, Flat 3, Exe Dene, Ferry Road, Topshaw, Exeter, Devon. Message reads ‘Witham Esses. The house where we are staying lies just behind the old working forge. We have a lovely garden, in which we have been able to sit about twice, as we seem to be in a “grey cloud” area at present. Spent the day with Michael & family on Thursday, while David & his family came here on Monday evening – The crops flourish – spinach, beans, strawberries, grain, in enormous fields running right down to the road verges ! We send love, Doris’.
