‘Church Street, Witham’. Taken from parish churchyard. Includes left to right, shed now site of 40a Church Street, 28-40 Church Street (‘Charity Row’, formerly workhouse), 26 Church Street, 24 Church Street, 22 Church Street, 8-20 Church Street, 6 Church Street, 4 Church Street, White Horse (2 Church Street), 35 Chipping Hill (Barnardiston House). Has Persiana Fisher (c.65), and Minnie/Mimmi (c.17) Fisher, probably either just below and to the right of the gable which is 26 Church Street, or to the left of it which is 30 Church Street). Postmark 19 August 1905. Address on back ‘Miss A Fisher, Ellingham, 93 Morland Road, Addiscombe, Croydon’. Message on back ‘Dear Ada just a line hoping to find you quite well; As it leaves us all nicely. We had Bill and Lizzie and all the family on Bank holiday John stepped in on Sunday unexpected so we had a house full. I am going to have a holiday the end of this month or the beginning of next. The other one has had hers. I will wright more next time. From M Fisher. I thought you would like this. I am just against the door and Mothers head. Look at Mrs T and baby. So Good bye dear’. Unclear whether they lived at 26 or 30 – see also M866 and M1021.
