The sales company, Antique Clocks by Patrick Thomas, described it in 2003 as follows: ‘Nice example of an oak cased brass dial longcase by Richard Wright of Witham (Essex) c 1760. Engraved dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date facility. Good colouring and grain, especially to the long door. Fully overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years. Height 7′ 4″. Order number PT 1689. Price £5,250.00 (Pounds Sterling)’.
