Co-op treat in Beadel’s meadow near Maldon Road Recreation Ground (the Park), behind 117 Newland Street. There was a procession down Newland Street first, and races. This shows the tea. Mrs Woolnough is left of centre in front; her husband ran the games in a coat made from a Union Jack. The table to the left is the town band.
