On the balcony of the Public Hall are the ‘Operators and Winding Rooms’ built for showing films c. 1919 (see Building Plan in ERO Accession 7280, no. 291, approved 29 September 1919).

Postmark Woking with date illegible. Addressed to Miss Willis and Miss Mattock, 1 Greenfields, Boxted, Colchester. Message reads ‘St Peters Convent, Woking. Much looking forward to welcoming you [???] home on Sunday (actually I shall be at Axbridge!). Best wishes Margery Norton’.
