David Alderton with pile of seed in Cooper Taber glass warehouse building. He was normally in the office so is probably just fooling about. The two shovels were to mix the different types of seed which were sent down the hoppers from above, according to the recipe required. Then it was let through the hopper into sacks (see M1164). The brooms were really to sweep up – very important not to let any seed remain on the floor to get into the next mix by mistake.
