Dr Ted Gimson (Edward Carwardine Gimson) in First World War uniform. Was in the R.A.M.C. and was awarded D.S.O. ‘for attending the wounded under fire in France’ (according to report of his sister’s wedding, Essex County Chronicle, 12 October 1917). Popular Witham G.P., born 1877, died 1955. Son of Dr William Gimson Gimson (died 1900) and brother of Dr Karl Gimson (died 1926), who were also Witham doctors.
