In background, left to right, tree in Albert car park, ‘Thompson’s yard’ with coal, and sign for Playle of Maldon (an electrician who had an office in the yard), and , 1A Braintree Road (left of Playle sign), brick bus shelter (with door opening on left, later a kiosk), 1-4 Albert Road. The dragon was manned by ‘half a dozen members of Witham Round Table’.
