East end of Chipping Hill looking west. On left, Earlsmead. In background to its right, left to right, end of 32 Chipping Hill, 30 Chipping Hill, the forge (18 Chipping Hill). In centre, tower of parish church. Right hand side of road, left to right, walls and trees (these in front of Bramstons (16 Chipping Hill) and Recess (then Beatenberg, 14 Chipping Hill)), 12 Chipping Hill, 10 Chipping Hill (semis), 8 Chipping Hill (Temples, in trees). Postmark 26 August 1906. Addressed to Mrs Soanes, Amhurst, 383 London Rd., Kirkley, South Lowestoft’. Message reads ‘Arrived safely 1/4 to 8, but very tired. Sorry I havent a pc of accident but they are sold out so have sent nearest’, Kindly remember me to Mr & Mrs Mercer. Hoping you are feeling much better. Ki8nd regards to all. Yours sincerely A Edwards. Presumably refers to Cromer express railway accident on 1 September 1905.
