Emma Brown with her three sons, William Ernest (Bill) (born 1872), Arthur Ralph (born 1874), and Frederick (Fred) (born c 1875). Probably left to right, Fred, Arthur and Bill. The four of them came to Witham from Ipswich in the 1870s when Emma left her husband William (or vice versa). Of the boys, Bill became a cabinet maker and antique dealer (at 37 Newland Street), Arthur a carriage builder (at 97 Newland Street) and Fred a cabinet maker.
