First World War. Last church parade of the 1st/7th Battalion of the Warwickshire regiment

Taken: 21 March 1915, Source: Mott, Ted, Ref: M166

First World War. ‘Last Church Parade of Warwicks Reg.’, according to handwritten caption on original album. See report from Essex County Chronicle, 26 March 1915. Shows soldiers only, except for organist in field, probably with clergyman behind him. No trees. Probably west of Collingwood Road, on land where Guithavon Rise etc. is now (some observers of the photos have suggested this area, and the newspaper says on land of Witham Land Co.; the company owned land in Collingwood Road). See also photos M165, M167, M168.
