First World War. ‘Last Church Parade of Warwicks Reg.’, according to handwritten caption on original album. See report from Essex County Chronicle, 26 March 1915. Shows soldiers marching. Water tower in Collingwood Road behind on left, some trees on right. Probably west of Collingwood Road, on land where Guithavon Rise etc. is now (some observers of the photos have suggested this area, and the newspaper says on land of Witham Land Co.; the company owned land in Collingwood Road).
