Has no.20 on front. Soldiers during First World War. Probably Royal Engineers (information from Ian Hook,formerly of Essex Regiment Museum), carrying what appears to be the frame of a small building, perhaps with thatch as roof. Large building behind them is 18 Newland Street (Whitehall). Gate of no.16 (Roslyn House) on right. To left are 22 Newland Street, 24 Newland Street, 26 Newland Street.
