Horse and plough from Freebornes farm, Witham, in Chelmsford carnival procession. Passing Bonds department store in High Street. Placard reads ‘R.W.Wheaton, Freebournes, Witham’. This farm is now 3 Newland Street. Includes left to right, Ted Hawkes (left, with plough), Walter Hawkes (centre, holding horse, father of Ted and Jack, also of Mrs Doris Leatherdale), Jack Hawkes (right, holding horse).
