Cars outside General Post Office. Car behind was one hired for a day or so by John Scott-Mason from Fred Shelley. In front has registration number 9068 F. This was registered on 22 March 1957 to ‘D S Evans, Newhaven, Ludham Hall Lane, London Road, Braintree (agent, Cty Motor Works, Chelmsford). It was a Vauxhall private car, chassis FD 34915. Info from ERO C/DF 11/278. A Vauxhall Victor according to John. In background, left to right, the General Post Office (part of 5 Newland Street, now Old Post Office) with prams outside, High House (part of 5 Newland Street, C Stoffer, chemist), 5A Newland Street, 5B Newland Street (two with mansard roof), Red Lion (7 Newland Street, behind the signs).
