From left to right, front row: Olive Stock (later Mrs Bell), Irene Wilsher (later Mrs Stroud), Violet Woodwards, Cynthia Baxter. Second row: Betty Speight, Rosemary Stock, Peggy Saunders, Joan Merrick or Eileen Truman. Third row: Doris LaPage, Pat Rushen (later Mrs Stapleton), Barbara Rice, Bella Halliday. Fourth row: Sheila Stoneham (later Mrs Amess), Gladys Gaffer, Edie Adams, Doris Turnage (long hair) (later Mrs Thorogood). Fifth row: Louise Lark, Hilda Joan Hawks, Daphne Prior (with ribbon; moved to Braintree; possibly killed in bombing). Back row, May (Peg) O’Dell (later Mrs Barry of 11 Pryor Close), Joan Hawkes, Betty Thompson (later Mrs Stevens) or Rita Du Rant. Names from Barbara Rice and Mrs Peg Barry (nee O’Dell).
