Glover’s garage, corner of Avenue and Newland Street. In the background is British Legion Hall (opened October 1957, see M2212 for earlier view without it) and the old Catholic church. Tanker lorry behind petrol pumps. Includes van belonging to ‘Doe and Sons Contracts Ltd., Fyfield, Ongar, Essex’, with registration number 412 FPU. This was registered on 24 January 1956 to ‘E Doe and Sons Ltd., Fyfield, Ongar Essex (agent, Doe Bros, Maldon)’. It was a Thames van, goods, chassis C882570. Info from ERO C/DF 11/154. Same occasion as M2209.
