Goodchild butcher’s horse and trap. In directories Goodchild Bros were butchers 1906-1926 (at 58 Newland Street). Mr Fred Goodchild (of 1 Hollybank) was son of one of them, William Ernest Goodchild, and says he doesn’t think it is his father on the photo. He says they came 1906. Postmark December 1906. Addressed to Miss Godden, 90 Gloucester Place, Portman Square, London, W. Message reads ‘Dear Jessie, hope you are well & in good spirits. Time is rather short now lovely weather here now Give my love to Jane you don’t want to be [???] hurry writing we know you are busy. Your loving brother’.
