Group from Girls National School. This I copied from a photocopy of an undated newspaper cutting lent by Rose Burch. The caption said it was Miss Ambrose’s class, and that the photo was lent ‘by Mrs Beth Smith of Conrad Road. She was then Beth Ling and is pictured fourth from left in the middle row. The class line-up was – Back row (left to right): Jean Bright, Ivy Burch, Kath Keeble, Mary Flack, Very Perry, Irene Thompson, Kitty Shelley, Betty Thompson, Joan la Page, Doris Shillitoe, and Mary Kimber. In the middle row (left to right) are: Derek Ardley, Brenda Parkin, Doris Drury, Beth Ling, Vi Francis, Joyce Springett, Doris Slater, Jean Smith, Freda Cowell, Joy Collard, Mary Taylor and Hilda Hawkes. Bottom row (left to right): Joan Leach, Richard Turner, Betty Flack, Ann Stearn, Eileen Bickmore, Doreen Blaney, Pam Carey, Barbara and Raymond Woodwards and Joyce Thurgood’.
