Hurst’s seeds, interior of new long building with sorting machine. The sacks had all different sorts of seed in, and different mixtures were made for different purposes. Before this building was put up and the new machine bought, it was done by hand in the prizewinning glass warehouse built in 1956. The machine was in the shape of a cross, with scales, hoppers etc., for whatever mix was required. E.g. special for Arsenal football pitch.
