Photos of Witham

Interior of signalbox at station with signalman. Possibly not Witham

Photographer: H F Hilton, Taken: 1905 approx, Source: Hall, Richard. A friend of his who is a member, purchased them from the Historical Model Railway Society for me., Ref: M1998

Description from Historical Model Railway Society: (http://www.hmrs.org.uk/photocat/hmrslist.shtml#Pmenu) ‘ABA729 Interior of signal box Witham? inc bearded signalman, desk, stove, telegraph, clock & levers. Far poster on wall headed Witham ca 1905. H.F. Hilton Collection of the HMRS. Good.’ Comparing this with M1129 and M1130 of Witham signal box in 1909 and 1931, it doesn’t look quite like the Witham one, though it could have been changed, especially after the 1905 rail crash.
