Information from Mr Peirce, see oral history tape 92. Large group of workers at Crittall’s window factory, Braintree Road. An enlargement is kept in portfolio. Probably at opening of factory. May be building workers either as well as or instead of factory workers, and some probably not from Witham.. Names known are as follows. Back row: 4 Haygreen, 16 Alf Cowell, 19 C Jennings. Second row from back: 28 Lapwood, 31 Crabb, 32 Johnson, 33 Butcher, 35 Charlie Shelley, 43 Claydon, 47 J Hawkes. Second row from front: 53 Edward Adams, 60 Hooker, 69 J Wood, 70 W Bickmore. Front row: 77 S Adams, 78 C Savell (carpenter), 80 W A Potter, 81 Dorking, 82 Smith (foreman), 83 G Howlett, 86 S Genty, 88 E Thomson, 89 E Pierce, 90 Ketley.
