Maldon Road looking north. Left hand side of road, left to right, part of 54 Maldon Road (Park Lodge, with black and white on top floor), entrance to Maldon Road Recreation Ground (the Park), 52 Maldon Road, 50 Maldon Road, and then other cottages etc. since demolished. On right hand side of road in middle distance, trees of The Retreat (29 Maldon Road), then further right, the Bell beerhouse (37-39 Maldon Road, closed c.1912), and on extreme right, with foliage, 41 Maldon Road (school house). Postmark not legible. Addressed to Miss Coleman, Wisteria Cottage, Great Baddow, nr Chelmsford. Message reads ‘Dearest Rose, 8 am. Coming home to sleep at [???] [???] Monday night. Dot going to Mew Malden until Tuesday afternoon. I hope I can see you and also I do hope I can see Miss C again. Although I have said goodbye with best love Florrie’.
