Mary West (nee Mecklenburgh) on right with purse, at her house, 6 Bridge Street. At her feet there seems to be a milk can, and she is holding a purse and paying the man on the left, so he is probably the milkman and very likely one of the Newman twins, John Newman (slightly more likely) or George Newman, from dairy business at nearby Croft House, 10 Bridge Street. On the step is a milk can, with the scoop that the milkman used to dish out the milk into the customer’s jug.
