Old photo of soldiers during First World War. 2/9th (Highlanders) Bn Royal Scots. Information from Ian Hook, Essex Regiment Museum, who also provided the dates. Marching in Newland Street. Probably same occasion as photo M451/M1893. Buildings visible (from left to right), 42 Newland Street (E.Spurge & Co.), 40 Newland Street, 36 Newland Street (the George). End of Collingwood Road visible between nos. 38 and 40.
