M1810(a) The band; On the far left, saluting, is (1) Sidney Rice, lived in Hatfield Road, was bandmaster, immediately to the right of him (2) is George Speight, and to the right of him, saluting in the foreground, is (10) Basil Theobald of Cressing Road. In middle column, fifth from back, with gap behind, is (15) Jack Rushen of Church Street, and behind him, behind the gap, (16) Raymond Woodwards of Cressing Road. At back of the right hand column, with white belt, is (23) Anthony Balls of Cressing Road (brother killed in WW2)
