Photo of work at Pinkhams glove factory. It is entitled ‘Showing a similar type of pointing machine [to the one in M2806] making a fancy stitch. This is done in two operations, the first with a two-needle machine to raise the material, and afterwards the single-needle machine to give the fancy effect. Care must be taken in the shaping of this point, and in putting it in the correct position on the back of the glove’. It is from page 35 of the book ‘The Story of a Lamp’.
