Portrait of Sarah and Charles Hubbard, younger. Charles Hubbard, born 1848 in Witham, son of Samuel and Sarah, was a Police Constable in Essex police 1875-95 living in Great Baddow, Harwood, Donyland, Bures, Braintree and Saffron Walden. Came back to Witham 1908 with wife Sarah Elizabeth (nee Resbury, born 1853, daughter of Henry and Sarah Resbury) and lived in Guithavon Road, then in 1910 went to Park Lodge (54 Maldon Road) whilst Charles was park-keeper. Then c 1916 to ‘Joy Villa’ in Maldon Road for rest of lives. He died 1926, she 1932.
