Taken: 1902 to 1930, Source: Drake, Martyn, Ref: M1404

River Brain, no buildings. Has a pipe across it and a concrete wall by it, on left, and also the end of some brickwork like a parapet front right. Also a footpath on right. Probably taken from Newland Bridge looking east. Compare photo P173/12A taken in 2002. Postmark Kelvedon 2 June[?] 1930. Addressed to Mr J Hooper, 200 Strone[?] Rd, Forest Gate, E7 London. Message reads ‘Dear Dad, I am writing this in the coach on my way and I think we will get there alright. We are now at Witham. Weather fine. Love, Doris’.
