Scene after the fire at the old Constitutional Club, Newland Street, in 1910, with children watching. Shows 88 Newland Street damaged, right of centre, and part of 86 Newland Street. Postmark 30 May 1910.

Addressed to Miss B E Lunniss, c/o Mrs Smith, 39 High St., Southend on Sea. Message reads ‘D B. Arrived home quite safely, Hope you did too. Just a little bit wet, but nothing to hurt. Wish I was at “Tauney” don’t you. Write soon. Y E L J.
