No.9 (rough writing). Soldiers during First World War, in Newland Street. Possibly Royal Army Medical Corps (information from Ian Hook, formerly of Essex Regiment Museum). Standing around large carts, one in centre on bicycle. Some civilians. Buildings include, on left 18 Newland Street (Whitehall), with trees at bottom of the Avenue to its right. Centre, behind telegraph pole, 3 Newland Street (Freebornes farm) Right, part of 5 Newland Street, with wall.
