A B12 steam train in the station. A Gas tank on the right in the Braintree platform, for ‘gassing branch line coaches’ for lighting and heating. Stationmaster George Hancock is standing on the platform. The buildings in the background in Albert Road include 9 Albert Road (former Temperance Hotel, with balcony, left of steam), 10 Albert Road and 11 Albert Road (semis, bow windows), and 12 Albert Road (on right).
