The Avenue from the top, in winter including the lodge and gateposts (built 1898). One gate open. No people. Can see the porch of the Grove at the end. Postmark 1905 [can’t read date]. Addressed to Miss Quinney, Oaklands, White House, Halstead, Essex. Message reads ‘July 22 I have received P Card. I cannot say How the next week will be with us as I have Company staying with me and others promised to come, in turns, so we are full up till end of Sept. H B R’. Same picture on M436 has message written on front, ‘6.11.04. Hope you arrived home safely’.
