The closing of the Kelvedon and Tollesbury Light Railway. A crowd at Tollesbury greeting the arrival of the last passenger train from Kelvedon, before the line was closed for passenger traffic. 

Tom Driberg, (MP for Maldon including Witham), acted as the honorary fireman for the last journey, and is shown right of centre (dark hair, no hat), helping down Captain R E Lawler (retired), an official of the company.
