Left hand side of road, left to right, the George (36 Newland Street), 32 Newland Street, 30 Newland Street, 28 Newland Street (these three together with ivy), 26 Newland Street, 24 Newland Street, 22 Newland Street (these three together with bushes in front), Whitehall (18 Newland Street). Right hand side of road, left to right, 3 Newland Street (Freebornes, left of telegraph pole), Red Lion (7 Newland Street, with gable, sign about stabling), 9 Newland Street (shop window), 11 Newland Street (awning). Postmark 9 August 1911. Addressed to Miss A Norman, c/o Miss Laver, Butterfields, Latchingdon, near Maldon. Message reads ‘Dear A Arrived back safely hope you were not to tired take care of yourself. Love from all Edie’.
