On the right hand side of the road, left to right, 40 Newland Street (in the distance), trees of 16 Newland Street (Roslyn House), 12 Newland Street, 10 Newland Street, 8 Newland Street, 6 Newland Street (these four grey in a terrace), 4 Newland Street (Avenue House), part of 2 Newland Street (Newbury House). 

Two girls with a hoop on the right. Postmark ‘Witham, 24 December 1904’. Addressed to ‘Mrs C Johnson, Depplish, 12 Mansfield Road, S Croydon, Surrey’. The message reads ‘With all best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Yours ever, Cissie’.
