Trial run of new ‘East Anglian’ train from Liverpool Street station. Photographer’s note says ‘Another step forward in the speed up of LNER train services was inaugurated today, Monday, when a stream lined express ‘East Anglian’ began its daily service between Liverpool Street and Norwich, stopping only at Ipswich. The run takes 2 and a quarter hours, saving 15 miinutes on the existing express service and 30 minutes on the usual run. The journey between Norwich and Ipswich occupies but 55 minutes. The ‘East Anglian’ is here seen setting off from Liverpool Street (note on Saturday’s trial run).
