‘Brandt Gimson wedding, Witham, Oct.1917’. Wedding of Mary Gimson and Hugh Brandt at parish church. See report from Essex County Chronicle, 12 October 1917. Mary was sister of Drs Ted and Karl Gimson (for which e.g. see photos M102 and M126). Shows a group of people outside the church, not including the couple, showing two bridesmaids on the right, the Misses Kate and Betty Gimson of Chelmsford, the bride’s nieces. Also includes VAD nurses who worked at the Red Cross Hospital, where Mary was commandant. See report from Essex County Chronicle, 12 October 1917. Mary was sister of Drs Ted and Karl Gimson (for which e.g. see photos M102 and M126). Lady facing camera (to left of lady in centre with back to camera), is Mrs Sybil Sherwood (of Kelvedon; she showed racehorses). The building behind on the left is 26 Chipping Hill (still there).
