Coronation Pageant, ‘the Masque of Time’; ‘King and Queen’. King or Father Time is Jack Bawtree, Queen is Gracie Laurence. Names from Lucy Croxall. There is a newspaper report in the Essex Weekly News for 23 June 1911, and a discussion about the Coronation fire engine in the Essex County Chronicle for 30 June 1911.
Postmark 5 September 1911. Sent by Alice M Green, who had the shop at 13 Newland Street, to her sister Ethel at Woodham Walter, i.e. Miss Ethel Green, Burnt House, Woodham Walter, mr Maldon, Essex.
Message reads ‘Dear Ethel, Am sending you a card of the play. I got home allright was not very tired. I hope Kath[?] is better hasn’t it been warm again I wish I was going to Kingston tomorrow don’t you. I suppose you could not come over on Sunday if H stayed with Mother. Uncle is about the same, love to all is it settled yet from Alice’..
