Arthur Brown’s talk was entitled The Tiler on the Roof and was about Athens. He was often known formally as A F J Brown.

I remember being quite blown away by Arthur’s eloquence. I’d heard it before, which helped me to get into it. In fact it was probably me that suggested Arthur should come and give the talk in Witham !
