Born in Bridge Street c 1922, two rooms only.

Parents  Mother Gladys Mackenzie came from Manchester. Father (Walter?) local, died at the beginning of 1934. Mother worked in Crittall’s after that.

Residences Bridge Street. Those houses demolished? Then to Cressing Road when three years old. In two different houses there. To Mill Lane when father died in 1934. Mill Lane house condemned. Then in 1939 to Church Street for eleven years. Then to 30 Ebenezer Close in 1950 when house there was new.

Work When left school, aged 14½, to cheque office at Co-op for three years. Then British Oxygen in Braintree Road, then with British Oxygen when they moved to Ipswich in 1955, till retired..
