Just come across this site looking for the Temperence Hotel Witham as I have a relative who lived there with his family who later died on 3 January 1918 , he was 22yrs , whilst serving onboard the G8 submarine which was lost in the North Sea . I believe this vessel has been located by the Danish Archeology department . My ancestors were Charles and Mary Elizabeth Bones , my distant cousin was Leading Signalman William Charles Bones .
Hello Barbara, Good to hear from you. I spell Temperance with an A usually, so maybe you could try looking for that. Which was your family ?
Do get back to me because I might have some information that’s not on the website.
All the best, Janet
